Frequently asked questions
Why do some letters take more than 8 bits?
Text is encoded as UTF-8. English letters use one byte, while accented letters, other alphabets and emoji use two to four bytes.
Does the binary need spaces between bytes?
No. When decoding, spaces and line breaks are ignored, as long as the total number of bits is a multiple of 8.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. HushConverts converts everything with code that runs in your browser, so your text and files stay on your device. You can even use most tools offline once the page has loaded.
