How to use the Split PDF tool

  1. Drop a PDF onto the box.
  2. Choose Extract pages, Split by ranges or Every page, and type the pages, such as 1-3, 5.
  3. Click Split PDF to download the result. Several files come as a ZIP.

Three ways to split a PDF

  • Extract pages saves the pages you list as one new PDF. Use it to pull a signed page out of a contract or keep only the chapters you need.
  • Split by ranges saves each range as its own file. “1-4, 5-9” gives two PDFs, which is handy for separating several scanned documents.
  • Every page saves each page as a separate PDF, downloaded together as a ZIP.

Good to know

Pages are copied, not re-rendered, so text stays sharp and searchable and file sizes stay small. Your original file isn’t changed. To put pages back together in a different order, use Merge PDF. To turn pages into pictures instead, use PDF to JPG.

Frequently asked questions

How do I write the page numbers?

Separate pages and ranges with commas. “1-3, 5, 8-10” means pages 1 to 3, page 5 and pages 8 to 10. “8-” means page 8 to the end.

Is the original PDF changed?

No. New files are created from it, and your original stays exactly as it was.

Are links and text kept?

Yes. Pages are copied without being re-rendered, so text stays selectable and searchable.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. HushConverts converts everything with code that runs in your browser, so your text and files stay on your device. You can even use most tools offline once the page has loaded.
