How to use the Video to MP3 tool
- Drop a video file onto the box.
- Choose the MP3 quality, and mono if it’s mostly speech.
- Listen to the preview, then download the MP3.
MP3 quality guide
| Bitrate | About per minute | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| 128 kbps | 0.96 MB | Speech, lectures, podcasts |
| 192 kbps | 1.4 MB | Most music and general use |
| 256 kbps | 1.9 MB | Music on good headphones |
| 320 kbps | 2.4 MB | The highest MP3 quality |
Choosing mono halves the amount of audio to store, which makes speech recordings sound just as clear at a lower bitrate. If you need an uncompressed file for editing, use Video to Audio to save WAV instead. To keep only part of the sound, cut it with Trim Audio.
Frequently asked questions
Which quality should I choose?
192 kbps sounds the same as the original for most people. Choose 320 kbps for music you care about, or 128 kbps with mono for long talks and lectures.
Which video formats work?
MP4, MOV, M4V and WebM usually work, as long as your browser can decode the audio. Chrome and Edge support the most formats.
Can I convert videos from websites?
Only files you have on your device. Download the video first, if you have the right to, then open it here.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. HushConverts converts everything with code that runs in your browser, so your text and files stay on your device. You can even use most tools offline once the page has loaded.
